Binter Canarias (NT), the Gran Canaria-based Spanish regional operator, has announced the launch of a once weekly service to the Senegalese capital, Dakar, effective October 14. The direct flights will operate onboard leased Air Nostrum (YW) CRJ200s.

► NIGERIA: Ethiopian Airlines now eyes a return to Kano as more carriers show interest.
With recent inauguration of 4x weekly flights from Addis Ababa to the south-eastern Nigerian city of Enugu, Ethiopian Airlines has now stated it plans to resume flights to Kano, suspended over ten years ago.

BinterSwift, the cargo division of Canary Islands-based carrier, Binter Canarias (NT), has initiated a series of meetings with entrepreneurs from the Cape Verde Islands to better understand market demands as the airline seeks to improve its African market niche by providing more alternatives for the movement of cargo from and via the Canaries to Africa and vice versa.

► GAMBIA: Binter Canarias launches Las Palmas - Banjul flights.
Binter Canarias (NT), the Gran Canaria-based Spanish regional operator, has announced the launch of twice weekly flights from Las Palmas to Banjul, Gambia, in effect since 11 January. This flight is operated by an Air Nostrum Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft.
