Mysterious Omani consortium, Al-Hayat Development and Investment Limited, has surfaced once again in the Tanzanian commercial hub of Dar Es Salaam and once again it is touting a USD100million investment initiative for struggling national carrier, Air Tanzania (TC).

Al Hayat Development and Investment Company,  the big talking Omani outfit that earlier this year stated it was willing to invest USD100million (TSH160billion) into struggling airline, Air Tanzania (TC), has mysteriously vanished. The outfit had claimed that it was in the process of finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tanzanian government at the end of January.

Tanzanian national carrier Air Tanzania (TC) is set to receive a much needed shot in the arm with reports that a consortium led by the Oman-based Al Hayat Development and Investment Company is to invest USD100million (TSH160million) into the struggling airline, with the final Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be signed "by the end of next week" (January 18).
