Mauritania Airlines International (L6), the national carrier of Mauritania, has outsourced its maintenance support and spare-part requirements for its fleet of two B737-500s and a single B737-700 to Belgian MRO specialists, Sabena technics, until 2018.

Under the terms of the contract, Sabena technics will provide Mauritania Airlines with unlimited pool access to both B737-500 & -700 components, repair & overhaul services, engineering & maintenance as well as a dedicated main base kit to ensure the continuity of the flight operations, anywhere in the world.
“Mauritania Airlines International selected Sabena technics for its maintenance services in order to rely on an MRO organization which allows our company to concentrate on its core business and on its growth, which has been constant since its creation,” said Hassana Ould Ely, CEO of Mauritania Airlines International.

Additional added-value services are also provided by Sabena technics and
tailored to Mauritania Airlines’ needs in order to improve the
reliability of its flight operations.
Despite being removed from the European Union's Banned Operator's List in December 2012, Mauritania Airlines is still subject to stringent monitoring by the European authorities with regards to its maintenance and safety procedures.
