South African Express (XZ) has been granted traffic rights to serve Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique out of Durban following its application in October 2012.
However, SA Express has stated that despite the acquisition of rights, the airline has no immediate plans to exploit the routes.
In its original application, the South African domestic and regional operator had applied for:
- Four (4) return flights per week to Windhoek, Namibia
- Three (3) return flights per week to Gaborone, Botswana
- 130 seats each to Maputo and Vilanculos, Mozambique
Earlier this year SAExpress CEO, Inati Ntshanga, said Maputo would be the next destination for the airline out of Durban King Shaka International.Maputo is currently served by the carrier out of Cape Town.
