South Africa's Comair Ltd is set to deploy its first B737-800 (
MSN 30403 | ZS - ?) to its British Airways franchise. The aircraft had previously seen service with India's Jet Airways (9W).
According to ch-aviation, the aircraft's deployment to the British Airways franchise is a first as previous 737-NG deliveries have centred on the group's Low Cost Carrier subsidiary, kulula (MN). BA-Comair currently operates an ageing fleet of seven B737-300s and eleven B737-400s.
Already in its British Airways livery, the jet is currently parked at Seletar airport in Singapore awaiting its ferry flight to Johannesburg.
