Lagos-based startup, Discovery Air, is reportedly in the process of acquiring two 737s as part of efforts to launch operations. However, as
of this posting, it is unclear as to whether or not the Nigerian Civil
Aviation Authority has granted the carrier its Air Operators
Certificate.

Thus far, the Nigerian start-up has shown interest in an ex-bmibaby (WW) B737-300 (MSN 28870 | 5N-?), currently stored in Lasham, the United Kingdom, and an ex-Brussels Airlines (SN) B737-300 (MSN 28571 | 5N-?), currently parked at London Southend. According to its website, tentative initial routes will include flights from Lagos to Abuja and Port Harcourt with regional operations also planned.
It is to be recalled that Discovery Air is part of the First Deepwater Discovery group of oil and petroleum companies, owned by Babatunde Babalola.
