Brazzaville-based carrier Equatorial Congo Airlines, better known as EC Air Congo (LC), on June 29, launched a weekly service connecting the Congolese petroleum hub of Pointe Noire with Paris CDG using a B757-200. EC Air also connects Brazzaville with the French capital.

Formed by the Congolese (Brazzaville) government in 2011 as a means of improving the country's dubious safety record, EC Air is able to serve Europe by virtue of the fact that its fleet, two B737-300s and a B757-200, is registered, operated and maintained by Geneva-based VIP business carrier, PrivatAir (PTI).
