According to AeroTunisie, Mr Jrad said Tunisair intends to cooperate with Libyan Airlines on a planned Tripoli to Montreal, Canada flight set to begin in 2014 and which would incorporate a stop over at Tunis.

Libyan Airlines recently took delivery of its first A330-200 (MCN 1424 | 5N-LAS) on June 27. The order is part of a larger deal for four of the aircraft of which the another is due shortly with the other two due in Libya in May 2014.

Despite having signed a firm contract with Airbus for the acquisition of three A350-800s (now cancelled), three A330-200s (c/n 1512, 1521 & 1526) and ten A320s in 2008, Tunisair has yet to announce a date for its A330s' delivery. These will replace the airline’s A300s, and will also probably be used to enter the US and South African markets.
