Algeria's national carrier, Air Algérie (AH) has announced it will take delivery of two former KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL) McDonnell Douglas MD-11s on five year leases following their conversion into cargo freighters.
It is uncertain as to whether these two aircraft will supplement or replace a previously announced plan to acquire two MD-11Fs from Ethiopian Airlines Cargo.
While the exact registrations have yet to be revealed, the Dutch airline currently has six MD11s still in active service with three other trijets (regs: PH-KCF/H/I) currently in storage in Victorville, California waiting to be scrapped.
