In a statement released by the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN), Minister el Maadawy said that the tender is open to private companies with the opening of bids due next month. To ensure fair pricing, a specialized committee, taken from various areas in the Civil Aviation ministry, would be formed in order to develop the necessary benchmarks and specifications needed to accurately determine a fair bid price.

All bidders will also be vetted by the country's local security agencies.

The Ministry originally put Hall 4 up for private investment in January with an evaluation of  EGP17million. Despite six firms showing interest, none submitted a satisfactory bid resulting in the re-issuance.

Even though it is referred to as a 'Hall' under Terminal 1, Hall 4 is infact operated independently from the commercial passenger terminal. It has proven to be one of the most successful general aviation halls in the Middle East.
