While the exact cause of the accident was not specified, Korongo did state that the aircraft had been temporarily withdrawn from service with a back up Boeing 737 (unspecified model) leased from South Africa's Safair Operations having resumed flights for the airline on Sunday.
The Safair 737 will continue to ply flights to Kinshasa, Mbuji-Mayi, Lubumbashi and Johannesburg on behalf of Korongo until OO-LTM is ready to resume flights.
