■ ANGOLA: TAAG renews its IOSA certificate until May 2015.

TAAG logoFollowing an audit conducted between January 27-31 of this year, TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola (DT), the Angolan national carrier, has had its IATA Operational Safety Audity certificate renewed until May 22, 2015, TAAG Quality director, Joaquim Fortes, has announced. 

TAAG Angolan AirlinesAccording to Angop, Mr Fortes said the audit included the areas of organisational and operational safety system checks, flight operations, maintenance and engineering, operational dispatching, cabin crew, cargo operations and security against illicit acts.

He went on to state that from now on, the company's Department of Quality will be responsible for internal audits to check for compliance with international safety standards. To the company, he added, this extension indicates the accomplishment of the joint commitment to reach operational excellence, through the adoption of best practices.

To mark the occasion, Günther Matschnigg, Senior Vice President, Safety, Operations & Infrastructure for IATA, visited Angola and delivered the certificate in person.

TAAG first attained its IOSA certificate on November 6, 2009.
