Tanzanian LCC, fastjet (FN) has announced it is temporarily suspending two of its routes between Kilimanjaro and Mwanza, and between Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, effective immediately, due to what it calls "low demand during the rainy season."
The move is unprecedented as both routes were launched just one month ago.

The company says it will continue to service its sole remaining routes between Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro, and between Dar es Salaam and Mwanza as usual. Kilimanjaro - Mwanza and Kilimanjaro - Zanzibar are set to resume from 1 July 2013.
Meanwhile speculation is rife as to a visit to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport yesterday by a fastjet A320. Uncorroborated reports speculate that a possible tie up with South Africa's Federal Air (7V) is in the offing though no definitive evidence to support this claim has yet been found.
