Swedish air traffic services academy, Entry Point North, has, during the months of February and March, been providing training to Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs) from Egypt's National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC). The NANSC is responsible for preparing and operating Air Traffic Services, Navigational Aids and Safe guarding Air Navigation Services within the Egyptian Airspace.
In total, eight "On The Job Training" (OJTI) and "Train the Trainer" courses are being given to specialists and operational ATCOs from Egypt.
All the courses are held at the academy in Malmö, Sweden by Entry Point North’s experienced instructors and are based on a recognised modern training philosophy and methodology.
“We are happy to welcome the participants from Egypt again and we strongly believe, that this agreement on Human Factor training underlines the good and close cooperation between our two organisations, ” says Peter Kantner, Business Development Manager at Entry Point North.
Entry Point North is an Air Traffic Services academy jointly owned by Avinor, LFV and Naviair, and was the first ATS academy accredited under the European Commission’s directives towards the vision of the Single European Sky by 2020. It caters for both regional and international public and private ANSPs, airports, airlines as well as military clients.
In 2012 Entry Point North also became ICAO Trainair Plus member.
