► SAUDI ARABIA: Palestinian Airlines, Egyptair cooperating on El Arish - Jeddah Umra flights.

EgyptAir (MS) in late January, signed a cooperation agreement with Palestinian Airlines (PF) to operate a series of pilgrimage flights on behalf of the Palestinian Egyptaircarrier out of its current base in El-Arish, Egypt to Muslim holy sites in Saudi Arabia.

According to the agreement Egyptair will operate 124 flights - four flights per week from El-Arish to Jeddah on Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of Ramadan - using an Egyptair Airbus A321.

Rushdie Zakaria, the president of EgyptAir, said:
"EgyptAir seeks to provide the best, most comfortable service to its clients from all over the world, especially its Palestinian brothers.”

The agreement runs from 30 January until 28 August 2013.

Established in 1994 and entirely owned by the Palestinian authority, Palestinian Airlines resumed operations last year after a 7 year hiatus with flights between El Arish and Amman, Jordan.
