► KENYA: Updates on ALS Aircraft Leasing, Mombasa Air Safari, Skyward International and Phoenix Aviation ops.

KenyaKenyan operators ALS - Aircraft Leasing Services (K4) and Skyward International Aviation have taken delivery of an Embraer ERJ-145 and a Fokker 50 respectively while Mombasa Air Safari (RRV) and Phoenix Aviation are to retire their Let 410s and McDonnell Douglas MD83 respectively.

Nairobi Wilson Airport
  • ALS - Aircraft Leasing Services, a Nairobi-Wilson Airport based scheduled and charter operator, have taken delivery of an ERJ-145 (MCN: 145385 | 5Y-CAV) for use on behalf of the United Nations.
  • Fellow Nairobi Wilson Airport UN-Mission specialists, Skyward International Airways, has taken delivery of another Fokker 50 (MCN: 20111 | 5Y-MIS).
  • Mombasa Air Safari (RRV), has retired its two Let 410s and is currently looking for replacement aircraft. Its fleet consists of four Cessna Grand Caravans and a single DC-3. Plans are also afoot to set up a second base at Nairobi's Wilson Airport.
  • Phoenix Aviation has returned its only remaining narrow-body aircraft, a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 (MSN: 53014 | 5Y-BYN), to lessor AerGo. It also recently took delivery of three Cessna Caravan 208s. Phoenix, also based out of Nairobi Wilson, continues to operate Cessna Citation business jets, Beech King Air and Cessna Caravan turboprops and helicopters on charter services.
