Air Botswana (BP) has officially opened its new lounge at Gaborone's Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA). Dubbed the Pula Lounge, after Botswana's national currency, the Pula, the facility will be available to members of Air Botswana's frequent flyer scheme, Teemane Club.

Speaking at a media briefing last week in Gaborone, Air Botswana commercial manager Robert Mpabanga said the lounge would be available to Gold and Diamond Teemane Club card holders.
"We will start offering the lounge services to our clients who are on the Gold Card and have earned 500 points, which is an equivalent of around 30,000 miles of flying with Air Botswana," he said.

Mr Mpabanga went on to add that had it not been for constant delays in the completion of SSKIA, the Pula Lounge would have been in place sooner.
The Pula Lounge offers free wi-fi, refreshments and satellite TV.
