Tunisian carrier Syphax Airlines (FS) is to seal a deal with Airbus for 10 Airbus A320s in addition to another deal with Safran S.A. the French multinational aircraft & rocket engine, aerospace component and security company.

The two contracts will be signed on 15 January 2013 during the first meeting of The
Tunisia-European Union Economic Advisory Council, set for Tunis.
The meeting will be attended by the Tunisian Head of Government,
Hamadi Jbali, ministers responsible for economic issues, the
Vice-President of the European Commission, Antonio Tajani and the EU Special Envoy for the Southern Mediterranean, Bernardino Leon.
Mr Jbali stated that "two memoranda of understanding will be signed at the end of the meeting." The first between Syphax Airlines/Telnet and Airbus for the purchase of 10 Airbus A320 aircraft and inclusive of a partnership in aeronautical engineering. The second agreement will be signed "between Syphax Airlines/Telnet and Safran, for the acquisition of CFM Aircraft Engines and for partnership projects in electronics production."
Syphax recently announced it would, in April 2013, take delivery of an Airbus A330 with a second due in early 2014 as the airline sets its sights on expanding internationally.
