Atlasjet is a Turkish airline based out
 of Florya,
Istanbul, Turkey with both domestic and international scheduled
passenger services.
Sami Alan, the carrier's CEO, said Atlasjet had officially obtained permission for South Sudan with plans to buy "proper planes" for South Sudan, beginning with two planes before adding a third aircraft to the fleet. Atlasjet is currently evaluating a fleet of either ATR 72 or Dash 8-400 turboprops for deployment.
In August 2012, South Sudan's government made it
public that it was actively looking for an international partner to
help set up and run a "reputable" national airline in which the
South Sudanese Government would own a minority 20% stake, 31% would go
to the local South Sudanese private sector with the remaining  49% being
 sold to international investors.
