► LIBYA: See Pics of Afriqiyah's first A320 painted in the new livery!

In a ceremony held in Sebha, Libyan carrier Afriqiyah (8U) has taken delivery of its sixth and first A320 (MSN 5448 | 5N-ONO) painted in the airlines new "dove" livery.

Selected from more than 60 entries, the carrier's new motif was designed by Saeed Al-Barouni, Manager of catering and in-flight services for the airline.

The carrier has been looking to break with its past identity (the infamous 9s logo which represented the date of the African Union's founding following the Sirte Declaration - 9 September 1999), synonymous with that of the old Muammur Ghaddafi regime.
