AlMasria Universal Airlines (UJ) has called on the services of Air France Industries/KLM Engineering & Maintenance to deal with an AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situation concerning CFM56-5B engines fitted to one of the aircraft operated by the Egyptian carrier.

Amongst the measures taken by AFI KLM E&M included organizing the lease of two spare engines and a shop visit for the two faulty engines.

Founded in 2007 as Egypt's first privately-owned scheduled airline, AlMasria Universal Airlines has a growing fleet of Airbus A320-family aircraft (two aircraft in 2009, five expected in 2012). It operates scheduled flights on a network covering domestic, regional (Middle East) and international (Europe) destinations.
