Turkish national carrier, Turkish Airlines (TK), added Kilimanjaro, Tanzania and Mombasa, Kenya to its growing global network last week 5 December, when the first of its 5x weekly Boeing 737-900ER operated flights, touched down.
Present at the inauguration ceremony in Kilimanjaro were Kilimanjaro Airports Development Company (KADCO) Board Chairman, Hassan Kibelloh, the Tanzanian Ministry of Transport Permanent Secretary John Mngodo and Turkish Airlines President and CEO, Dr.Temel Kotl.

During the 18th World Route Development Forum, KADCO, the company that manages operations at KIA, secured USD30million from Netherlands-based firm, Orion Grand Facility, in a bid to transform KIA into a fully-fledged tourist's gateway by 2014.
