A Jordanian man, who had smuggled a snake aboard Egyptair (MS) flight MS610 from Cairo (Egypt) to Kuwait City (Kuwait) with 91 passengers, was bitten by the reptile after it managed to escape the bag he was carrying it in.

The Airbus A320 (MSN 165 | SU-GBA) was overhead the Red Sea when the incident occurred, prompting the crew to divert for Hurghada.
The snake’s 48-year-old handler, Akram Adbul Latif, owns a reptile store in Kuwait and refused emergency medical treatment for his wound, insisting the bite was superficial.
The fate of the snake itself, said to have been a Cape cobra, is no clear though it is said to have been confiscated by Egyptian authorities.
