Originally due to launch on 1 December 2012, the Dubai flights will now commence 20 December 2012 with the carrier's Airbus A330s also scheduled to operate on "certain flights to both Istanbul and Cairo."

No timetables as yet have been loaded into the CRS.

Regarding the carrier's rebranding and possible renaming (suggestions have included "Wataniyah", Arabic for 'National', as a replacement for the Gaddhafi-inspired "Afriqiyah" brand), the airline said that owing to the aviation industry being "costly and slow", the new logo would only be unveiled next year, with all aircraft now going into maintenance set to come out in an all white colour scheme.
