► NAMIBIA: Air Namibia announces numerous changes to its timetable from January 2013 onwards.

Air NamibiaAir Namibia (SW) has announced various changes to its operational schedule. These changes are to take effect from 15 January 2013 onwards.

Air Namibia (SW) Operational Changes January 2013 onwards.

  • Windhoek - Cape Town, South Africa: Saturday flights reduced from 3 to 2 flights with SW746/7 being removed from the schedule.
  • Windhoek - Johannesburg (ORTIA); South Africa: to be reduced from 3 to 2 flights on Saturday with SW713/4 being removed from the schedule.
  • Windhoek - Gaborone, Botswana: to increase from 3x to 4x per week with an added frequency operating on Tuesday; all flights to operate in the morning.
  • Windhoek - Rundu and Katima Mulilo, Namibia: to be reduced from 6x to 4x weekly frequencies. As a result, flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays are to be removed from the schedule.
  • Windhoek - Luderitz & Oranjemund, Nambia: to increase from 3 to 4 frequencies per week, and to operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday instead of Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
  • Windhoek - Maun, Bostwana - Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe - Windhoek, Namibia: currently operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays in the morning, are to operate as WDH-VFA-MUB-WDH in the afternoon. The Monday flight is still to operate in the morning. The frequencies are to remain at 4x per week throughout the seasons (low and high tourist season).
  • Windhoek -  Lusaka, Zambia: to be reduced from 6 to 5 frequencies per week excluding Saturdays (Saturday flight is to be removed from schedule).

Air Namibia has also announced the start of flights between Windhoek and Ondjiva, Angola at a date yet to be made known.
