[UPDATE 12 JANUARY] Federal Airlines (7V) has announced that, effective February 1, it will cease its Johannesburg ORTIA - Vilanculos, Mozambique route, with the last operational flight on January 31. The flight currently operates daily with an ATR42.

Federal Airlines decided to maintain the service until the end of
January so that passengers would not be affected and to give them enough
time to make alternative arrangements from February 1.
“After 10 years of operation, it has been a difficult decision to make, however with the global economic downturn, the airline has seen a continuing decline in passenger numbers – even over the busiest of seasons,” said a statement from the airline.

[UPDATE 12 JANUARY] According to ETNW, Federal Air has brought forward the cancellation of its Vilanculos service to 15 January 2013 citing low passenger demand and increasing fuel costs and passenger taxes.
