Djibouti Aviation officials on Thursday announced that, following the signing of a bilateral air services agreement between Djibouti and Egypt by the Director of Djiboutian Civil Aviation, Almis Mahamoud Haid, and
the Egyptian Director of the Department of Transportation, Khaled Abd El
Monem, Egyptian carrier Egyptair (MS) will soon start several direct flights per week between the two countries.

"This agreement is the culmination of several months of discussions, and the arrival of the carrier may be useful to both the Djibouti International Airport and the nation as a whole in terms of development," said Haid.
After Air France (AF), Ethiopian Airlines (ET), Felix Airways (FO), Kenya Airways (KQ), LCC Flydubai (FZ), Djibouti's Daallo Airlines (D3), Yemenia (IY) and Turkish Airlines (TK), Egyptair will become the ninth carrier to venture into the Horn of Africa's underserved market.
