■ UNITED STATES: Air Namibia awards $4million contract to JBT AeroTech for Airport Ground Support Equipment.

Air NamibiaAs part of its long term expansion strategy, Namibian national carrier, Air Namibia (SW), has awarded a contract worth USD4million to Chicago-based firm JBT AeroTech, to supply it with new airport ground equipment.

To be included in the order are: new cargo transporters, aircraft push back tractors and mobile passenger boarding steps, which will aid the airline in its expanding domestic and intercontinental flight operations.
"We are pleased to support the growth of Air Namibia," said John Lee, Vice President for JBT AeroTech Division. "This order represents JBT's ongoing commitment to partner with the African air transportation industry as it continues to update and expand ground support operations."

The order is expected to be fulfilled throughout the remaining months of 2012, with the first shipment arriving in the final quarter of the year, continuing into the first quarter of 2013.
