■ ETHIOPIA: Lufthansa Technik lands MRO deal for Ethiopian's 787s.

Lufthansa TechnikGermany's Lufthansa Technik have signed a 10 year deal with Ethiopian Airlines (ET) that will see the Hamburg-based MRO specialists providing component support for Ethiopian's growing fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.

Under the deal, signed recently in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, Lufthansa Technik will provide "Total Component Support (TCS)" which entails them providing material support using the existing material pool in Germany, as well as provision for services including repair and logistics for Ethiopian's fleet of ten 787s, of which three have already been delivered (with a fourth (MSN 34744 | ET-AOP) due shortly in November).
Ethiopian new contract with Lufthansa Technik for the 787 is a continuation of existing relationship between the two and will greatly enhance Ethiopian MRO by improve its dispatch reliability, reduce maintenance cost and enhance its supply chain management effectiveness and efficiency of this ultra-modern aircraft,” said Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian.

Lufthansa Technik already provides component support for Ethiopian's Q-400 and MD11 Cargo aircraft.
