► BOTSWANA: Air Botswana planning Nairobi, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Cape Town, Lanseria flights from October onwards?

Reliable Zimbabwean aviation blog, Harare Airport Blogger, is reporting that Botswana's national carrier, Air Botswana (BP), is planning to launch various new regional routes with effect from 28 October 2012, though these reports have not yet officially been confirmed by Air Botswana itself.

 Amongst the new routes planned are:
  • Gaborone - Nairobi, Kenya
  • Gaborone - Cape Town, South Africa
  • Gaborone - Lanseria (Johannesburg), South Africa
  • Gaborone - Lilongwe, Malawi
  • Gaborone - Blantyre, Malawi
  • Maun - Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

As part of its expansion plans, Air Botswana is to receive a further 2 aircraft (one of which is an ex-Lufthansa Avro RJ85) in the near future to supplement its current fleet of three ATR42s, two ATR72s and three Avro RJ85s for use on its routes between Gaborone, Francistown, Kasane and Maun domestically and Johannesburg, Cape Town, Harare and Lusaka regionally.
