On the domestic front, Precision Air will increase its flights between Dar es Salaam and Arusha to 5x daily, whilst using the larger Boeing 737-300 to Mwanza. Kigoma and Musoma have been suspended as both airports are currently undergoing upgrades using European Union funds.
As a result of the Boeing 737-300 being deployed to Mwanza, their Dar es Salaam - Johannesburg (via Zanzibar) route, is to be suspended from 17 September onwards. Currently, Precision Air faces tough competition on its Dar es Salaam - Johannesburg route from the likes of South African Airways and LCC 1Time.
Precision Air's Commercial Director, Patrick Ndekana, said:
Source [BizCommunity]"It has been a great experience operating the route and we may consider resuming this destination as we enhance our market presence and fleet".
As safari season pushes on, Precision Air has moved to take advantage of a playing field left wide open following the inadvertent grounding of Air Tanzania (TC) whose dispute with Georgian ACMI AeroVista over a leased Boeing 737-500, drags on.
