[UPDATE 17 FEBRUARY] American megacarrier United Airlines (UA) is to start a 5x weekly service between Houston, Texas and the Nigerian city of Lagos using its soon-to-be delivered Boeing 787 Dreamliner, effective 7 January 2013.
The route is currently operated using a Boeing 777-200.

The 787 flown route will go on sale on United.com and through various other distribution channels beginning 25 August 2012.

United Airlines has fifty Boeing 787-8s on order with delivery of its first (MSN 34824 | N20904) slated for the end of September, having recently completed a successful first flight.
[UPDATE 20 JANUARY] Owing to the ongoing operational problems with the 787, United has postponed its Lagos route to 17 February 2013, instead of 30 January 2013. This is the second postponement of planned Dreamliner service inaugural.
From 30 January 2013 to 16 February 2013, the Star Alliance member continues to operate this route with a Boeing 777-200ER 5 times a week.

[UPDATE 17 FEBRUARY] UNITED has extended its planned Boeing 787 service cancellation until 30MAR13 inclusive. Planned Boeing 787 service from Houston to Lagos starting 01MAR13 is postponed until 01APR13. Boeing 777-200ER continues operation until 28MAR13 inclusive (LOS departure until 29MAR13 inclusive).
